JOBS & ECONOMY A strong local Berkshires economy is characterized by high rates of locally-owned private enterprise; plentiful employment opportunities; healthy, trained, and solvent workers and entrepreneurs; locally-sourced green energy; and public investment in public infrastructure to supports everyone directly and equally. In the Berkshires, local farms that harvest and distribute healthy food and locally-sourced renewable energy are essential parts of the economic mix. Successful jobs and economics policies are closely linked to making health care and education affordable.
